    • Florence Airport (Amerigo Vespucci Airport) – 1 hour 30 minutes
Florence is the closest major international airport, offering a variety of flight options and easy access to the Tuscan countryside.

    • Pisa International Airport (Galileo Galilei Airport) – 2 hours
Pisa is another popular option, with numerous international and domestic flights. From here, you can enjoy a scenic drive through Tuscany to the villa.

    • Rome Fiumicino Airport – 3 hours

Once you arrive at Villa Catignano, the peaceful surroundings will make it feel like you’ve stepped into a timeless Tuscan dream, where every moment is designed to celebrate love, joy, and the beauty of this remarkable region.

  • Here’s how you can get to Villa Catignano from the nearest airports, along with a few travel tips to make the journey as smooth as possible:

    1. From Florence Airport (Amerigo Vespucci Airport) – 1.5 hours

Florence is the closest major airport to Villa Catignano, making it the most convenient option for most guests.

    Option 1: By Car

    • Distance: About 80 km (50 miles)

    • Estimated Travel Time: 1 hour 30 minutes

    • Directions: From Florence Airport, take the A1 Autostrada towards Rome. Exit at Firenze-Certosa and follow the signs for Siena. Continue on the SS222 (Chiantigiana Road), which is a scenic road through the Chianti region, until you reach the village of Catignano. The villa is just a short drive from the village.

    • Rental Cars: You can easily rent a car at Florence Airport. Driving in Tuscany offers the opportunity to enjoy beautiful views along the way, but be aware that some roads can be narrow and winding, so make sure to drive carefully.

    Option 2: By Taxi

    • Estimated Cost: Around €130–150

    • Taxi Ride: Taxis can be found at the airport, or you can pre-arrange one to Villa Catignano. It’s the easiest but more expensive option for those who prefer not to drive.

    Option 3: By Shuttle/Private Transfer

You can also arrange a private transfer or shuttle service directly to the villa.

    2. From Pisa Airport (Galileo Galilei Airport) – 2 hours

Pisa is another popular option for international flights and is well-connected to many European destinations.

    Option 1: By Car

    • Distance: About 120 km (75 miles)

    • Estimated Travel Time: 2 hours

    • Directions: From Pisa Airport, take the A11 towards Florence and exit at Firenze Scandicci. Follow the signs to Siena via the A1 Autostrada. From the Firenze-Certosa exit, take the SS222 towards Siena, and follow it to Catignano and the villa.

    • Rental Cars: Renting a car at Pisa Airport is straightforward and gives you the freedom to explore the region. The route takes you through the scenic Tuscan countryside, so it's a lovely drive.

Option 2: By Taxi / Private Transfer

    • Estimated Cost: Around €180–200

    • Taxis can be hired at Pisa Airport, or you can book in advance for a direct ride to the villa.

    • You can also arrange a private transfer to the villa. Recommendations will be posted to the website in the next few weeks.

Option 3: By Train and Taxi

    • You can take a train from Pisa Central Station to Siena (roughly 1.5 hours), and then take a short taxi ride from Siena to Villa Catignano (about 15 minutes). This option is a bit more time-consuming but is doable for those who prefer public transport.

    3. From Rome Fiumicino Airport (Leonardo da Vinci Airport) – 3 hours

If you're arriving from outside Europe, Rome's Fiumicino Airport is a major hub, though it’s further away.

    Option 1: By Car

Distance: About 250 km (155 miles)

    Estimated Travel Time: 3 hours

Directions: From Fiumicino, take the A1 Autostrada towards Florence. Exit at Firenze-Certosa and follow the signs to Siena via the SS222. From Siena, it’s a short drive to Catignano and the villa.

Rental Cars: This drive is quite scenic, passing through various small towns in Tuscany, so it’s a great option for those who enjoy a leisurely road trip.

Option 2: By Train and Taxi

You can take a train from Roma Termini to Siena (around 2.5 hours). Once you arrive at Siena station, take a short taxi ride (about 15 minutes) to Villa Catignano.

Option 3: By Shuttle or Private Transfer

A private shuttle or transfer service can be arranged to take you directly from Rome Fiumicino Airport to the villa. While more expensive, this is the most comfortable and stress-free option, especially for groups.

We will offer two shuttle options from the most popular airports mentioned by guests in the RSVP. More details will be available this summer after we gather all RSVPs.

  • General Tips for Travel:

    • Car Rentals: Renting a car gives you the flexibility to explore Tuscany at your own pace. Most car rental agencies are available at the airports, but it's best to book in advance, especially if you want an automatic transmission. Most booking platforms will default to a manual transmission, so ensure that you’re selecting the correct option when booking. Note: Legally, an International Drivers Permit is required to drive in Italy. AAA offers them via mail or at one of their offices.

    • Taxi Services: If you choose a taxi or private transfer, be sure to pre-arrange or confirm the fare with the driver before you depart, especially for longer journeys.

    • Shuttles & Transfers: If you're traveling with a group, a shared shuttle or private transfer could be an economical and convenient option.

Note: We are working with our planners to set up shuttle options, please check back in the next few weeks.

    Passport Information:

As you prepare to join us for our wedding celebration in beautiful Tuscany, please ensure that your travel documents are up to date. For international travelers, it is essential to check the expiration date of your passport before booking your flight.

    Passport Expiration Guidelines:

    • Six-Month Rule: Many countries, including Italy, require that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date from the country. This means if your passport is set to expire within six months of your arrival, you may need to renew it before traveling.
